Alfred “Big Al” Louis Cito, 71, of Ocean View died June 5, 2016, at the Ka‘u Hospital. Born March 31, 1945, in Newark, N.J., he was the proprietor of Big Al’s Marinara and Pesto Sauce.

Richard Rivera
Richard Ricardo Rivera, 80, of Holualoa died May 30, 2016, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born April 3, 1936, in Kahaluu, he was a retired journeyman mason, a coffee farmer, member of Hawaii Mason Union Local No. 1, and a U.S. Army veteran.
Graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. June 17 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Light refreshments will follow. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Julia Rivera of Holualoa; sons, Steven Rivera of Kapaau, Glenn (Rita) Rivera of Kalaoa, Randy Rivera and Darren Rivera, both of Holualoa; daughters, Rochelle (Dula) McDonald of Kalaoa, Kelly (Jason) Omori of Napoopoo; brother, Joseph Rivera of Hilo; sisters, Thelma (Larry) Watai of Monterey, Calif., Phyllis (George) Rivera, Anna Beach, and Barbara (John) Carvalho, all of Holualoa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Raynette Ballio
Raynette H. L. Ballio, 51, of Wailuku, Maui, died May 22, 2016, at her residence. Born Jan. 20, 1965, in Pahala, she was a teacher’s aide for Naalehu and Pahala Elementary schools, volunteered for the A+ program, Pahala Christmas Parade, Boys &Girls Club, P&R assistant coach for basketball, and she was a kumu in Hawaiian studies.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. June 18 at Punaluu Black Sand Beach for a celebration of life.
She is survived by parents, Mary Jane and Raymond Ballio; sisters, Jammie (Joe) Palacat, Leslie (Allan) Young, Donnie (Nathan) Almazan; hanai children, Leila Young Nelson, Roscoe Young; numerous nieces and nephews; 13 grandnieces and nephews.
Naome Coloma
Naome Binongcal Coloma, 72, of Waikoloa died May 21, 2016, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born June 27, 1943, in Naguilian, Philippines, she was a Realtor for Lava Rock Realty and a retired administrative manager for UCLA School of Medicine.

She is survived by son, Nathaniel Herbert of Fullerton, Calif.; brothers, Alex Coloma of Philippines, Eugene Coloma of Torrance, Calif.; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert Cross
Robert Walter Cross, 50, of Nanawale died May 26, 2016, at his residence. Born in Michigan, he was a retired car salesman for RPM Auto Sales in Flint, Mich., a carpenter and an auto mechanic.
Scattering of his ashes took place at Warm Ponds in Kapoho.
He is survived by sons, Matthew Gatica of Fenton, Mich., Eric Cross of Clio, Mich., Ryan Cross of Flint, Mich.; daughter, Heather Poore of Clio, Mich.; companion, Geri Tolchin of Nanawale; sisters, Tonya Horvath of Howell, Mich., Charlotte Cross of Gaylord, Mich., April Pluta of Fenton, Micc., Stephanie Cross of Flint, Mich.; brother, Jim Cross of Flint, Mich.; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Johannen Joseph Poche Jr., 80, of Pahoa died May 18, 2016, at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired construction laborer with Hawaiian Dredging and member of the Hawaii Laborer’s Union Local 368.

Janet “Sayung” Rosario Caluag, 91, of Kailua-Kona died May 25, 2016, at her residence. Born May 1, 1925, in Haiku, Maui, she was a hostess, waitress and food prep at Burger King, Kow Kow Corner, Sun Sun Lau Restaurant in Hilo, Kona Tei Restaurant and K.K’s Place.
Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. June 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kealakekua Ward on Kalani Street in Kailua-Kona, for an 10 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.
